About
A commemorative stamp issue honouring Miss Supertest III, the legendary Canadian hydroplane designed and built by James (Jim) Thompson and piloted by Bob Hayward. Miss Supertest III stunned the world by winning the Harmsworth Trophy three consecutive times (1959–1961), a defining moment in Canada’s international sporting history. Designed by Ivan Novotny at Taylor|Sprules Corporation, the issue launched as a booklet of 10, a gummed souvenir sheet of two (domestic and international rates), an Official First Day Cover, two postcards, and a collectible folder that opened into a poster.

Quote
“This stamp issue was designed to evoke a sense of nostalgia and to pay homage to the era, speed, power, and incredible grace of Miss Supertest III and her team. Her mythic story was expressed through a layered composition of archival and custom photography, art, and design ingenuity that leveraged the stamp selvage as an extended design canvas, dramatically expanding the visual narrative beyond the stamp frame.”
